Introduction 

The purpose of this assessment is to research, collate and understand the ways in which specific construction materials are used throughout the construction of a structure, as well as to become familiar through research of the relevant compliance codes and standards. It is also an opportunity to demonstrate the student's skill in hand sketching details of relevant material applications. The assessment will firstly provide compliance information and requirements for small scale structures that have been researched and compiled. Secondly, it will present construction details that have been hand sketched, illustrating the requirements for small-scale projects relevant to steel, concrete and glazing. It will then cover research that has been collated correlating with construction materials and applications which include steel, concrete and glazing. Lastly, it will include evidence of the completion of online training relative to requirements for interior fit outs. As a whole it will demonstrate the student's knowledge, skills and understanding of the research materials and methods for structural elements and building envelope, as well as the research requirements for applicable legislation
